In exciting news from the biological science world, an avid Harry Potter fan and scientist has named a new species of wasp after a villain from the franchise.
The lusius malfoyi non-stinging wasp is one of 3,000 to be discovered in New Zealand according to CNN.
Tom Saunders, a researcher from the University of Auckland, made the decision based on Lucius Malfoy's role in the Harry Potter books.
"People see wasps as villains, as the 'bad guys'," he told CNN.
"But the truth is that the vast majority of wasp species are either neutral or beneficial, from a human standpoint.
"Just as Lucius Malfoy is pardoned after separating from Voldemort's allies, I'm asking people to pardon wasps in order to restore their reputation as interesting, important creatures."
