Everyone loves the snow! And with Mt Buller only three hours from Melbourne hitting the slopes is a must-do winter activity
We hit up the team at Mt Buller for their ultimate beginners guide to enjoying their beautiful mountain village.
So here's part one: What should I wear?
Needless to say, you want to stay warm and dry.
Dress in layers so you trap warm air close to your skin and use waterproof outer layer to keep dry.
If you don’t have want to buy clothing, Waterproof pants and jackets are available for hire or purchase from a range of retail outlets in Mansfield and at Mt Buller.
Don’t forget to wear a beanie to keep your head warm and gloves for your hands.
Checklist of essentials:
Waterproof pants (or overalls) and jacket
Ski goggles and/or sunglasses
Waterproof ski gloves or mittens
Beanie or helmet*
Warm jumper or fleece and light wool undergarments/thermals
Sunscreen (30+) and lip balm
Long socks - light/medium weight.
Top tip: If you are coming just for the day it's a good idea to bring a change of clothes for a comfy trip home and if you’re staying overnight you’ll need some sturdy boots for walking around.
